Archaeologist
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field. Master’s degree or requisite experience to meet the Secretary of the Interior’s Professional Qualification Standards preferred.
- Minimum of 2 seasons conducting archaeological surveys through a consulting firm, academic institution, resource agency, or similar. Experience in Colorado or Rocky Mountain region preferred, upper Midwest and Great Basin experience are secondary preferences.
- Willingness to work in inclement conditions and travel for up to two weeks at a time for field work. Travel out of state or internationally may be required.
- Must be able to navigate rugged conditions in variable weather on foot for extended periods of time (8-10 hours) and lift up to 40 pounds.
- Some projects or situations may require work schedules of more than 8-10 hours per day or more than 40 hour per week.
- Demonstrated technical writing and verbal communication skills. Experience drafting technical documents such as scientific papers, survey findings and reports, compliance documentation, or similar is required.
- Good organizational and data handling skills, along with proficiency in MS Excel and Word. Experience with Esri software and GPS technology and Adobe or similar software a plus.
- Demonstration of proficiency in one or more specialized skill sets in archaeological methods such as geoarchaeology, ethnobotany, faunal analysis, lithic analysis or ceramic analysis is a plus.
- Experience with construction monitoring or knowledge of construction workflow a plus.
- Self-motivated, positive, flexible, team-oriented attitude with a willingness and desire to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $45,000- $70,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
