HDR is looking for a Construction Inspection Intern to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) program to perform construction engineering and inspection duties on highway and bridge construction projects utilizing NCDOT policies and procedures. Work will include materials testing, construction observation, and reporting. This position will be trained to read and interpret construction drawings, identify discrepancies or conflicts within the documents, and enforcement of the contract documents.

This position is subject to a preemployment drug test. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to completion of tasks.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Willing to travel / perform field work. 
  • Preference will be given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
