Job Description: Electrical Coordinator / EIT
The Electrical Coordinator position includes engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, which are assigned by a Project Engineer or Project Manager. The EIT may work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects. Other tasks may include:\
- Check manufacture's drawings performing engineering calculations.
- Work on design layouts verifying code compliance quality checks meeting project schedules and budget as well as coordination of work with other disciplines as required.
- Typical design work would deal with power distribution, motor control, lighting, power system analysis and grounding.
- Depending on project size job may require supervision of designer and CAD operators. Projects include power industrial and institutional facilities.
- Must be able to work among other disciplines and have good communication analytical and organizational skills.
- Candidate must also display attention to accuracy and be detail orientated.
- Participate in field reviews or construction observation.
- Familiarity with Piping and Instrument Diagrams, having professional work experience
- Some travel may be involved
Perform all other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm preferred.
- EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
- 3.0+ GPA
- Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED desired but not required
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis
- Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration
- Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
