HDR has an exceptional opportunity for an Environmental Permitter in our Alaska Area Resources Business Group.

Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide environmental permitting support for Alaska development projects. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting permit application acquisition and/or modification, potentially to include managing and reviewing technical work products (environmental documents and technical studies).
  • Establishing permitting matrix, schedules and sequencing tasks, coordinating workload and deadlines with project managers and technical staff, and implementing quality assurance/quality control procedures.
  • Working with clients, project managers, and subject matter experts to advise on schedule and strategy for permitting needs.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to exemplary quality standards for professional practice and deliverables. Candidates must be able to work cooperatively with professionals from other disciplines, clients, project managers, business development professionals, and operational leadership. This is a full-time position based in Anchorage, Alaska. The position may include providing permitting support in client offices.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced degree or certification 
  • 2 to 5 years of professional environmental permitting experience in Alaska
  • Local hire preference

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
  • Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • MS Office experience
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
