HDR is seeking a Geomatics & Remote Sensing Area Business Class Lead to be a member of our Geomatics & Remote Sensing program, a global team of data acquisition specialists. Data is a common thread to everything we do at HDR. We collect it, generate it, manage it, analyze it, and deliver it to our clients. As a Geomatics & Remote Sensing Area Business Class Lead you will manage the area’s Geomatics & Remote Sensing team and program in HDR’s Missouri/Kansas area. This includes staff management, project management, and business development duties. You will be responsible for the team’s quality project delivery and Geomatics & Remote Sensing business performance and growth within the area across multiple infrastructure markets (e.g., transportation, water, power, building engineering). Our full-service geomatics & remote sensing offerings in Missouri/Kansas include land survey / boundary survey, lidar (outdoor terrestrial, indoor, manned aerial, and mobile), hydrographic survey, and aerial data acquisition via UAS.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Take responsibility for area coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of staff and products of the Geomatics & Remote Sensing teams in Missouri and Kansas to meet client needs and market drivers, all within direction and goals of business class plans
  • Participate in delivery of project services to meet client expectations
  • Collaborate on Geomatics & Remote Sensing business class efforts with area operations, marketing and project management
  • Participate in Geomatics & Remote Sensing business class practice and professional discipline groups, project teams and activities to continually improve standards and best practices, and implement effective quality assurance and quality control reviews
  • Serve as a seller-doer with the responsibility to pursue and win work and maintain a profitable utilization for the team and yourself. Be directly involved in marketing planning, proposals, and interviews, which includes maintaining strong client relationships, trends/drivers, and upcoming opportunities.
  • Participate in business class strategic planning, budgeting and plan implementation at local and regional levels, across all business groups.
  • Function as a project manager or technical manager, leading critical area and regional projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed


Preferred Qualifications

 

  • You have a service- and client-oriented personality.
  • Experience leading the development of scopes, schedules and budgets, and managing projects
  • Interest in infrastructure projects such as water, wastewater, transportation, transit, energy, solid waste, and architecture
  • Familiarity with the architecture and engineering consulting industry
  • You have an internal drive to try new things and explore new industry trends and technology while pushing your comfort zone every day.
  • You have strong organization skills.
  • You can adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years of experience
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
