HDR is seeking a motivated Geographic Information System (GIS) Intern to join our Colorado Springs GIS team. This position is ideal for a student who has completed coursework toward a GIS-focused degree and is eager to gain hands-on experience in a professional environment. The GIS Intern will collaborate closely with GIS staff to support a range of projects, including data development, editing, maintenance, cartographic production, and field data collection using Esri technologies.
- Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of GIS datasets
- Produce high-quality cartographic products to support project deliverables
- Support field data collection efforts using Esri applications
- Collaborate with GIS staff and project teams to meet project goals
- Perform other duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Esri ArcGIS software
Commitment to being an active participant in HDR’s employee-owned culture
Familiarity with GIS-related software, tools, or programming
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate environmental science, biology, environmental Engineering or related program
- Attention to detail
- Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
