Responsibilities
In the role of Highway/Roads Engineer, we'll count on you to:
- Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the engineering development of urban and rural highway/roadway projects ranging from feasibility analysis to preliminary and final design
- Oversee the work of CAD Designers and EITs
- Lead detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects
- Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
- Participate in professional organizations with an emphasis on the transportation industry
- Perform other duties as needed
- A minimum of 3 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Experience involving urban and rural highway/roadway design including but not limited to corridor, interchange, intersection, ADA, and bikeway design, and preparation of plans, cost estimates and specifications
- Preference given to local candidates

- Bachelor's degree
- Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineeringsoftware such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/orAutodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- MS Office knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
