Marine Mammal Specialist
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Science, Marine Biology, Biology, Environmental Science or equivalent Engineering, or Planning degree is required
- Good people skills and ability to contribute to a positive, supportive, team-focused environment.
- Willingness to learn and work on a wide array of resource issues typical in National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review of renewable energy projects.
- Strong technical writing skills are required. Writing samples will be requested.
- The ability to deal with and communicate detailed technical information is a key requirement.
- Strong conceptual, organizational, problem solving, and research abilities are required.
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
- Experienced in MS Office Suite
- A valid driver’s license and a driving record that is acceptable under the HDR Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Would prefer a candidate with 2+ plus years of related experience, but will consider entry level candidates with a strong educational background and interest or experience in marine mammals and marine permitting.
- Masters preferred.
- Familiarity with marine acoustics or acoustic modeling
- Familiarity with common statistics used in ecology
- Familiarity with GIS
- Local candidates are preferred.
