- Be an active team member reporting to the Project Controls Technology Manager, Project Manager or other Project Leadership as Directed
- Lead client efforts to modernize program and project controls through automated, data-driven tools that provide real-time visibility across reporting, scheduling, cost, and risk management ecosystems.
- Architect and maintain predictive project metrics, automated business intelligence dashboards, and cloud-based collaboration portals to deliver actionable insights and unified status communication to management teams.
- Partner with multiple Project Managers to break down data silos and align schedules, budgets, and change controls across multidisciplinary, agile teams.
- Actively champion data literacy and technology adoption, leading project controls topics and demonstrating dashboard capabilities during coordination meetings.
- Leverage industry awareness of scheduling methodology within Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or modern cloud scheduling platforms, integrating their datasets into enterprise BI tools (such as Power BI or Tableau) for advanced portfolio analysis.
- Monitor, forecast, and report on cost expenditures and cash flow trends using automated cost engineering platforms, while streamlining payment application and invoice validation workflows
- Core Industry Experience: 2+ years of progressive project controls experience within the engineering or construction or capital projects industry.
- Basic understanding of connecting to data and use softwares such as of Tableau, Asite, Kahua, Autodesk Forma, QuickBase, Aurigo or Microsoft SuiteBI
- Hands-on proficiency across the complete project lifecycle, including advanced planning, parametric estimating, forecasting, Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, and Earned Value Management (EVM) cost control.
- Advanced Data Engineering: Practical experience building automated data pipelines and ETL processes using Power Query and Power Automate to streamline project management data streams.
- Deep understanding of project control frameworks from recognized authorities such as AACE International (e.g., Total Cost Management) or the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- A strong passion for continuous learning and a proven ability to evaluate, adopt, and deploy emerging project management technologies and software.
- Strong foundational leadership skills with a track record of driving accountability, guiding project teams, and presenting technical insights clearly to stakeholders.
- Preferred Certifications: Holding or actively pursuing industry-standard credentials, such as:
- Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300) (Updated from the retired MCSA: BI Reporting)
- Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) or Certified Cost Professional (CCP)
- PMI: Project Management Professional (PMP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Data/Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience in capital project environments.
- Foundational experience or strong aptitude in relational data management, business process mapping, and quantitative data analysis.
- Hands-on exposure to or introductory training in project management information systems (PMIS), low-code tools, and BI platforms,
- Demonstrated ability to translate functional business requirements into structured technical specifications and realistic development timelines.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to self-start, prioritize multiple concurrent tasks, and adapt creatively to changing project needs.
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical project teams.
- A proactive commitment to collaboration, continuous learning, and active participation in our employee-owned culture.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship.
