HDR is currently looking for a Rail Engineer In Training (EIT) to join our growing Rail Design and Delivery group, to support our various exciting railway infrastructure projects from feasibility studies to detailed design and environmental assessments. HDR is one of the premier transportation design firms in the industry and known globally for delivering custom solutions to challenging projects.

In the role of Rail EIT, we'll count on you to:

  •  Support Rail Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  •  Coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project’s life cycle (from development and initiation to close-out), while under supervision of a Project Manager
  •  Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager
  •  Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers and project managers on larger projects
  •  Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
  •  Work with the Project Manager, Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  •  Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Have the ability to interact with various design teams, have excellent organizational, project management and communication (both written and verbal) skills
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Basic knowledge of MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • MS Office Applications experience
  • Strong interest in railroad design
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
