In the role of Rail EIT/Designer, we’ll count on you to:
- Support Project Managers and Engineers to develop track and civil design plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Take responsibility for civil and track engineering assignments, including drainage, structural and utilities tasks.
- Develop design criteria, project guides, project meeting notes, and project controls while supporting Project Manager.
- Work independently on small projects or assist more senior engineers on larger projects.
- Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates without their EIT will have the title of Rail Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT certification for career progression.
- Basic knowledge of OpenRail Designer, and/or Civil3D
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Ability to handle multiple assignments
- Preference given to local candidates
- Bachelor's degree
- Hands-on experience with MicroStation, InRoads and GEOPAK-route design
- MS Office Applications experience
- Strong interest in railroad design
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
