About the Role
As a Resident Project Manager, you will co-ordinate and control delivery of HDR’s Architectural and Engineering Construction Monitoring duties for a large data centre based within the EU. You will ensure clarity of scope, risk, decisions and deliverables, while supporting technical excellence and client satisfaction. You will support information flow, change control and site inspections to help ensure outputs are delivered on time and to the required quality. To manage local team including sub-consultants. To liaise with the main contractor and MEP sub-contractors on HDR’s behalf. You will oversee site works for a large data centre project and will become familiar with HDR’s contract, scope and budget. You will also ensure the HDR team including our sub-consultants are familiarized with HDR’s design and will be responsible for ensuring the team monitor that the installation is in accordance with the design.
About You
The Resident Project Manager should also have good technical design skills and be able to review Technical Submissions and answer RFI’s with input from the Lead Engineer. They should also be able to work closely and collaboratively with the sub-contractors to resolve any design or coordination issues on site.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day co-ordination of projects, ensuring scope, programme, risks and decisions remain clear (typically up to £5M).
- Support construction monitoring by tracking programme, interfaces and dependencies and escalating issues where necessary.
- Support meeting cadence and documentation, including agendas, action tracking and accurate capture of decisions.
- Support change control by maintaining change logs and assisting with impact assessments (time/cost/quality).
- Support processing of technical submittals, drawings reviews, RFIs etc and maintain accurate project records in line with QA procedures.
- Engage regularly with clients and internal stakeholders to confirm expectations, actions and delivery priorities.
- Implement Company Health and Safety. Ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations.
- Maintain project financial controls (forecasting, spend tracking and invoicing support) and support periodic project reviews.
- Apply project QA/QC requirements and maintain QMS-compliant records (ISO 9001/14001).
- Perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years related experience; minimum 2 years project management experience.
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng.
- Must have the Right to Work in the EU
- Commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
- Strong organisation, communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills.
- Able to co-ordinate across disciplines and manage competing priorities in a delivery environment.
- Comfortable supporting meeting management (actions/decisions) and information control (transmittals/registers).
- Competent in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint; MS Project desirable.
- Positive, professional attitude with a collaborative working style.
- CSCS cardholder.
- Experience with critical engineering facilities and/or data centres
Experience of monitoring sub-consultants / third-party appointments.
