Essential:

  • Degree or master’s level education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering / Environmental / Energy / Sustainability / Scientific), OR equivalent experience
  •  Have a high-level knowledge of (and interest in) sustainability principles and challenges, and the ability to make the case for action.
  • Knowledge of relevant best practice standards and legislation (for your area of interest), particularly in the UK & Europe, and how to assess performance.
  • To be able to work as part as a team and collaboratively and co-operatively.
  • An ability to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity, following established Quality Management System protocols.
  • The ability to research, collect, analyse, and process information following established guidance and protocols. This includes critical thinking and generation of ideas / opportunities. 
  • Effective communication skills, to be able to correspond effectively with others, and to present information in a concise and effective form (e.g., within report format, calculations, emails or presentations). 
  • Competency in key business tools (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Browsers and Search Engines) 

Desirable:

  •  Relevant experience, ideally >5 years is typical for a Senior Consultant position. Experience in consultancy is preferred but not essential.
  • Ability to mentor junior colleagues
  •  Appropriate professional membership based on your experience. For example: with IEMA, Energy Institute, CIBSE or an equivalent. With a desire to work towards Chartered status.
  • A high-level knowledge of relevant sustainability tools or standards (e.g., GHG protocol, carbon emission factors, science-based targets, ISO14001 / ISO14064 / other standards etc.)
  • Any relevant industry accreditations (e.g BREEAM / WELL / Lead ESOS Assessor).
  •  Driving license
