Our clients live on the leading edge of Education, Science, and Advanced Technology. We, the lab planners at HDR, consider ourselves lucky to work with them every day. We come from a diverse background of architects, educators and scientists. There is no one formula for how we got here, but we all have a deep interest in what our clients do and a passion for problem-solving.
Lab planners are the conduits between the end users and the rest of the design team. We translate design vision to scientists, and science to designers. We’re also in a position to have our ideas permeate throughout every aspect of our projects. Collaboration energizes us.
We are proud to be associated with some of the most advanced institutions and facilities in the world. We are honored to currently collaborate with 140+ Academic Institutions around the world, 30+ Top 50 Universities in 2024 U.S. News & World Report and 60+ R1 Doctoral Universities. Our work spans life science, physical science, nanoscience, engineering, and education facilities in all of the above. If a client has a one-of-a-kind facility, HDR is often the first to be called upon. Our clients want their designers to be able to think strategically about their unique problems, not just apply past experience. Staying ahead takes work. We invest significant time together reimagining the future of research and education, and how that will impact our clients, their projects, and our design thinking. The by-product of this passion are 11 R&D Magazine Lab of the Year awards.
