Senior Sustainability Consultant
Key Skills and Experience
- An appropriate Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent in a relevant subject and desirable to have a Sustainability / Environmental / Architectural / Geography Master's Degree or equivalent.
- Membership of an appropriate industry association e.g. IEMA. Desirable to be Practitioner / Chartered (or equivalent) member of an appropriate industry association e.g. IEMA
- Form of accreditation in two of more of the following; BREEAM, CfSH, HQM, WELL
- Appropriate amount of people management experience, with the ability to demonstrate successful development of others.
- Successfully delivered two or more of the following; BREEAM NC / RFO, CfSH, HQM, WELL AP. Desirable to have successfully delivered one or more of the following; Estidama Pearl, Fitwel, Greenstar, LEED, Ska.
- Delivery in each of the following sectors; Mixed use, Office, Residential and Retail.
- Successful report delivery in each of the following; Sustainability Statements, Climate Adaptation Study, Functional Adaptability Study and Material Efficiency Study.
- Understanding / knowledge of at least two of the following; Estidama Pearl, Fitwel, Greenstar, LEED and Ska
- Knowledge and ability to read Architectural, Civil/Structural, MEP and specialist drawings and specifications.
- Experience working in a consultancy service within a busy office environment.
- Experience of setting up and managing varied content across both internet and intranet platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and team working skills.
- Personable self-starter with the ability to project a positive ‘can do’ professional attitude at all times.
- Ability to cope with frequent and varied tasks and prioritise workload according to the needs of the Service, maintaining good working relationships at all times.
- Developing skills in project management and supervision.
- Competent in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and SharePoint
- Skilled in using at least one of the following or equivalent: Tracker+, One Click LCA.
- Able to establish excellent rapport and good working relationships within the Sustainability team(s), company, project teams and with Clients.
- Good organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines.
- Awareness / understanding of equal opportunities and other people’s behavioural, physical, social and welfare needs.
- Understanding of corporate equality standards and diversity issues and impact in immediate work and service area.
- Understanding / knowledge of independent reports to successful review and complete a Sustainability Statement and/or green certification assessment including:
