HDR is looking for a Structural Coordinator / EIT to become part of our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group. This position may be based in any of our offices across Kentucky and Tennessee.
- Design buildings for Data Centers which will include: new builds, retrofits and colocations.
- Design buildings for support of water bearing structures for local municipalities.
- Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects
- Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standards, techniques, and procedures.
- Give direction to clerical or technical personnel as needed
- Assist senior staff on site visits to evaluate field conditions
- Perform structural observations during construction
- Perform other duties as needed
- Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
- Knowledge of construction and structural systems
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar commercial design software systems.
- Previous design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus
- Ability to design in steel, concrete, and masonry
- Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards
- Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis of structural systems
- Candidates hired without their EIT will be titled "Coordinator" and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
- Local candidates preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
- Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
