In the role of Traffic EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to:

  • Work as part of a traffic team under the direction of the Project Engineer/Manager on a variety of traffic analysis and design needs for a variety of transportation projects
  • Conduct operational traffic analysis using a variety of modeling tools, ranging from Synchro/Highway Capacity Software to complex microsimulation models in TransModeler/Vissim, analyzing everything from isolated intersections and roundabouts to urban arterials and freeway corridors
  • Focus on traffic design, crash analysis and mitigation strategies, and traffic signal timing plans
  • Conduct traffic design using CAD platforms including MicroStation, autoCad and Guide Sign software
  • Conduct operational analysis using a variety of analysis and modeling tools specific to support job duties, including HCS, Synchro, VISSIM and Aimsun
  • Conduct safety analysis using a variety of  safety software tools including Highway Safety Software
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
  • Candidates without their EIT will be placed into a Design Coordinator job code and will be expected to obtain their EIT within 1 year
  • Computer skills using Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, and MicroStation
  • Preference given to local candidates 
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong verbal and written skills
  • Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
