As a Marketing Coordinator, you will support business development, marketing, and pursuit activities across HDR's Water Business Group. Working alongside business development leaders, project managers, marketers, and technical professionals, you will help strengthen client relationships, elevate HDR's brand, and support efforts that position HDR for success in the marketplace.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a variety of marketing and business development initiatives, including industry conferences and events, client engagement activities, thought leadership, social media and content marketing, proposals, interviews, and presentations. Ideal candidates are collaborative, organized, and eager to learn while supporting both strategic growth initiatives and day-to-day marketing activities.
Your work will help showcase HDR's technical expertise, support meaningful client connections, and contribute to the continued growth of our Water Business Group throughout the Area.
- Maintain accurate client, contact, opportunity, project and resume information within client relationship management and business development systems.
- Support business development reporting, metrics and dashboards through effective management of client relationship management and financial systems.
- Monitor client, agency and industry websites for procurement opportunities, solicitation status, capital programs, strategic initiatives and market developments.
- Support pursuit teams in developing persuasive qualifications, proposals, interview materials and presentations.
- Coordinate proposal schedules, compliance requirements, content collection, document production and submittal activities under the direction of pursuit leaders.
- Assist pursuit teams with client-focused messaging, win themes, differentiators and presentation development.
- Support interview preparation, rehearsal coordination, presentation materials and logistics.
- Organize and maintain proposal, presentation and marketing resources to support future pursuits and knowledge sharing.
- Administer implementation of the go/no-go decision process in accordance with HDR's Matrix of Authority
- Support development of engaging internal communications, presentations, webinars and meeting materials related to Water Business Group growth and marketing activities.
- Support external marketing and business development activities that strengthen HDR's visibility, client relationships and position in the water industry.
- Research clients, funding opportunities, market trends and competitors to support growth initiatives and client plans.
- Support development and implementation of client plans, including tracking outreach activities, client intelligence and follow-up actions.
- Support solicitation and documentation of formal client feedback.
- Support development of annual and long-term strategic plans and implementation of approved growth initiatives and investments.
- Coordinate HDR participation in water industry conferences, workshops, association events, client outreach activities and community engagement opportunities.
- Support fulfillment of conference sponsorship benefits, including speaker coordination, promotional materials, exhibit logistics and post-event follow-up.
- Assist with development and promotion of conference abstracts, technical presentations, award submissions, articles and other thought leadership content.
- Support content marketing and social media campaigns that elevate HDR's brand, technical talent and Water Business Group capabilities.
- Coordinate development of marketing collateral, digital content, project photography and visual assets used to support business development and brand visibility.
- Support local and regional market visibility efforts through engagement with industry associations including CWEA, AWWA, APWA, WEF, WateReuse, CASQA and related organizations.
- Maintain inventory of branded materials used for client visits, conferences and recruiting activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 0-5 years of relevant experience supporting A/E/C proposals or pursuits
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Strong time management, organizational and marketing communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under tight deadlines with professionalism and diplomacy
- Willingness to travel within the Southern California Area as needed
- Ability to compose documents onscreen and to communicate graphically
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical professionals, business development leaders and marketing team members.
- Interpersonal and communications skills with people both inside and outside the firm including clients and sub-consultants
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently as well as in team environments
- Enjoy working with different personality styles and management levels
- Requires little or no direction in area of specialization
- Positive outlook and attitude
- Experience supporting pursuit planning and proposal development for competitive A/E/C pursuits; Water industry experience a plus
- Demonstrated experience in writing compelling content based on information from technical staff
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign
