Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety and Occupational Health, Environmental Engineering (or Management) or other similar field of study.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing SH&E program/projects in general industry, government services and/or construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA & ANSI regulatory standards
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
  • Team-oriented with proven oral and written skills to support company SH&E policy and procedural requirements
  • Experienced and proven leadership skills necessary to effectively manage a staff in support of company SH&E requirements
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • Working knowledge of US Federal EPA, OSHA and DoT regulations, as well as State and local regulations and requirements.
  • Possess current OSHA construction outreach trainer certification or the ability to obtain it within approximately 6 months of hire.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other software tools, including IndustrySafe.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • This position requires proof of US Citizenship.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in one or more SH&E fields (Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Safety Trained Supervisor (STS))
  • Possess a strong understanding of class 1 freight railroad and FRA safety standards to include a minimum of 3+ years’ progressive experience is preferred.
  • CSP, CHMM or CIH certification preferred and/or 5+ years Senior SH&E Management experience is preferred.
  • Strong preference given to candidates currently located in the state of California.

The expected compensation range for this position is $113,267.00 - $169,165.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
