Bridge Inspector EIT/Coordinator

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering field required.
• MS in Civil/Structural Engineering preferred.
• EIT certification strongly preferred. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression
• 2 years of bridge/structural inspection and design experience preferred
• Completion of NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges training preferred.  
• Must be willing to work with other disciplines (bridge design, roadway design, hydraulic analysis, stream restoration, planning, traffic control) within the office, as necessary, during inspection downtime.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, and have the ability to travel for multiple night stays during the week.
• This position requires physical ability to perform field inspections of in-service bridge and culvert structures, tunnel structures, highway structures, overhead sign structures, hydraulic structures, and metal traffic signal poles. Physical demands include positioning extension ladders, maneuvering small boats, driving long distances, confined space, air travel, occasionally working at night, and walking long distances on uneven surfaces.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must have good communication skills and be willing to work in multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Candidate should expect exposure to environmental hazards, such as, but not limited to, warm and cold temperatures, water, work-at-height, poisonous plants, snakes, ticks, spiders, and other creatures.

The expected compensation range for this position is $68,629.00 - $92,851.00 annually/hourly depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
