We are looking for a motivated Construction Intern to join our team in Paducah, KY. You will work under the direct supervision of professional engineers and project managers, contributing to real-world projects that have a meaningful impact on our communities.
Key Responsibilities
Gain real-world experience on exciting projects by applying standard engineering techniques and procedures by spending time on project sites and in an office setting supporting the construction administration roles
Work under the guidance and direct supervision of a senior-level Engineer to support project proposal efforts, including procurement and project controls, interpreting construction drawings, and reviewing construction submittals
Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
Visit construction sites for inspection duties, monitoring contractor activity, completing Daily Work Reports, and providing materials testing
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Interest in transportation engineering, infrastructure design, and construction management.
Familiarity with MicroStation, OpenRoads or other drafting/drawing/design software is a plus.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from supervisors.
Preference given to local candidates
- Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program
- Attention to detail a must
- Must possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Basic Microsoft Office skills
