Geologist II
Required Qualifications
- BS in Geology required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a geotechnical/geological-related field
- PG/LG or ability to obtain one in NC within 12 months; candidates hired without their PG/LG will have the title of "Geological Designer"
- Experience with NCDOT Geotechnical Engineering Unit policies and procedures
- Must have a knowledge of soil and rock mechanics
- Proficiency with geotechnical engineering software (gINT, GeoStudio Suite, Ensoft Suite, Settle 3D, GRLWEAP, etc.) and Microsoft office programs
- Must be willing to travel (up to 50%) throughout the Southeast, mainly NC, SC, and GA
- Must have strong oral and written communication skills
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
- MS with geotechnical or geology concentration preferred
- Proficiency with CAD software (MicroStation) preferred
- Local candidates are preferred
