HDR currently has an opening for a Mechanical/Civil EIT/Designer with the technical skills and desire to help support our nationally recognized Resources Business Group. This position will be based out of our Charleston, SC office and offers the opportunity to work closely with regional energy clients.  

In the role of Mechanical/Civil EIT/Designer, we'll count on you to: 

  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
  • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
  • Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
  • Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of Designer and will be expected to obtain their EIT certificate for career progression.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; MSCE or MSME preferred
  • Recent graduates will be considered
  • Experienced in pipeline design is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD
  • Commercial/institutional experience in healthcare a plus
  • Preference given to local candidates
