In the role of Senior Technical Designer, we'll count on you to:
Demonstrated knowledge of technical design content, design management principles, digital technologies, and design workflows
Independently evaluate, select, and apply appropriate architectural techniques, procedures, and modifications to construction documents
Perform architectural assignments independently with general guidance from Project Leadership
Experience across healthcare, education, civic, science, data centre / mission-critical, and research facility projects
Execute architectural layouts and detailed design work across project phases
Establish and lead owner/client and internal meetings; participate in agency reviews to ensure code compliance
Manage and deliver design activities, including the production of coordinated design information
Conduct on-site work sessions in collaboration with the Project Manager and multidisciplinary teams
Support Project Architects, Architectural Project Coordinators, and Technicians as required; take responsibility for deliverables throughout all architectural phases
Review architectural documentation to identify and resolve interdisciplinary conflicts
Perform QA/QC processes and comprehensive technical reviews
Write, edit, and coordinate architectural specifications
Incorporate approved changes into project documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Provide construction contract administration support as required
Coordinate with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders
Perform additional duties as needed to support project and team objectives
As a Senior Technical Designer you will work on projects in a variety of sectors, with a focus on data centers. You’ll be working closely with the multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors in the UK and Europe.
Required Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in architecture or closely related field
5+ years’ experience of working with healthcare, education, civic, science, data centre / mission-critical, and research facility projects is desirable.
A minimum of 5 years professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction document
Understanding and experience of various building contracts
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project Schedule)
Excellent written and communication skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
Must have experience in preparation and layout of architectural contract documents and specifications
Strong knowledge of building regulations and good planning skills
An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in architecture
Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED
Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, SketchUp and 3-D Studio Max
- Rhino and Grasshopper experience
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field
- A minimum of 5 years professional or internship experience preparing details, specifications and construction documents
- Must possess credentials to obtain future registration
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
- Desire to pursue growth opportunities and eventually obtain registration
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship management skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in use of Autodesk Revit and familiarity with related tools and process
- Demonstrated graphic presentation skills
