The Learning Designer Assistant will work closely with instructional designers, eLearning designers, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other stakeholders to support the development and delivery of educational and training materials. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about creating effective learning experiences. This role involves assisting in the design, development, and evaluation of courses, e-learning modules, and other instructional content.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in Course Design: Collaborate with learning designers to develop instructional materials, including e-learning modules, presentations, and job aids.
- Multimedia Support: Assist in creating, editing, and curating multimedia elements, such as videos and graphics.
- Learning Management System (LMS) Support: Collaborate with the Learning Coordination Team to help upload, organize, and manage courses and materials in the LMS.
- Quality Assurance: Review and proofread learning materials for clarity, grammar, consistency, alignment with instructional goals, and to ensure compliance with HDR Brand.
- Course Catalog Quality Checks: Perform regular quality checks on the existing course catalog, identifying outdated or inaccurate content, and assist in updating courses as needed to maintain relevancy and accuracy.
- Content Research: Conduct research to support the creation of new learning resources, ensuring content accuracy and relevance.
- Learner Feedback Analysis: Assist in gathering and analyzing learner feedback and data to identify areas for improvement in course content and delivery.
- Administrative Tasks: Support the learning design team with administrative duties such as scheduling meetings, preparing documentation for and submitting courses for accreditation, and maintaining project documentation.
Preferred Experience:
- Previous experience in education, instructional design, or content development (internships or freelance work are acceptable).
- Basic understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models like ADDIE or SAM.
- Basic proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Camtasia) and multimedia editing software (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) is preferred.
- Associates degree
- A minimum of 1 year experience
