Primary Responsibilities
- The Low Voltage/Telecom Specialist will be expected to complete a variety of project tasks including but not limited to the following:
- Strong general engineering knowledge of either the telecommunication (Horizontal/Backbone cabling and pathways) or electronic security systems (access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection etc.) and operational coordination with commercial hardware.
- Meet with project clients to evaluate, define and review customer needs/objectives and ensure those requirements are meet within the project design.
- Define and develop complete project related construction documents to include all design documents (SD, DD, CD) to show design intent, project specifications and assist with system related activities within all construction administration (CA) activities.
- Coordinate with integrated, multidisciplinary project teams to develop functional requirements, system designs and other project related requirements.
- Develop alternative system design concepts, feasibility and trade-off studies and value-added engineering when required for projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry product offerings and research new emerging technologies.
- Assist in problem resolution and technical troubleshooting when field support is needed.

Required Qualifications
- Associate or technical school degree, or combination of education and relevant experience. Engineering Bachelor’s degree and RCDD is preferred.
- 3 years of related work experience.
- “Can-Do” and problem-solving mind-set.
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple tasks independently, on schedule and under budget.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to work in a high-velocity environment managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and workmanship quality.
- Strong computer skills and a proficiency or able to work in Bluebeam and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work in Revit, AutoCAD is a bonus. Must be able to learn new applications quickly.
- Knowledge of engineering drawings and design standards and practices.
- Strong desire for continuous learning and professional education.
- Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
